The fourth seminar in Nellie's Osaka Seminar Series 2004 will feature two presentations as follows:

  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM English Rhythm through Picture Books
    Presenter: Mitsue Hoshihara (Matsuka Phonics Institue)
    Target: Teachers who teach children 5-12 years old
    Language: English
    Content: The introduction of picture books with original tapes and CDs focused on rhythm reading and activities. Rhythm reading helps children to read the books fluently with good intonation in natural speed. Many more ways to expand lessons using the picture books will be demonstrated.
  • 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM, Story Time
    Presenter: Katherine Mackay (Longman ELT)
    Target: Teachers who teach children
    Language: English
    Practice phonics, vocabulary and grammar, with rhythm & rhyme and in a meaningful context. Turn the page together and discover what happens next.... Katherine will select from the new Chatterbox Series, the graded Penguin Young Readers and the best of the Longman Big Books.
