Despite its importance, vocabulary is sometimes glossed over, especially by textbook designers. This presentation will focus on ways that teachers can incorporate vocabulary into their teaching and testing. In particular, Mr. Paterson will suggest criteria for selecting vocabulary, discuss the importance of recycling due to the influence of forgetting, and give a brief summary of psycholinguistic models of vocabulary acquisition.
