This one-day workshop will help intercultural learners better understand their own intercultural learning style. It will use PICO, a questionnaire-type instrument which measures an individual's orientation towards intercultural learning. See
www.pico-global.com for more details about PICO.
Morning session: We will focus on learning about two traits that affect one's approach to intercultural learning: change vs. stability, and inner vs. outer referenced thinking. There will be case studies, discussion and interactive activities.
Afternoon session: We will focus on understanding and identifying differing orientations towards intercultural learning: proactive, principles, reflective and adaptive. Participants will do discussions, inteactive activities, take a multiple-choice instruement in order to create an personalized intercultual learning profile. Discussion will focus on learning how to use this understanding to improve intercultural relationships.
