EF Education Japan:

Using the Internet as a Resource for Task-Based Learning (day 1 of 2; online participation)

Date: Tuesday, March 7th, 2006 Time: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Speaker: Beata Schmid and Christopher McCormick

Description:
Join Dr. Beata Schmid and Dr. Christopher McCormick in an interactive online experience that you can participate in from your own private computer or join one of our live broadcasting sessions in the EF Japan office in Tokyo, Ebisu.

Rather than focusing on a specific grammar point (for example), TBL activities encourage students to use the language to solve a specific task. During this seminar, we will explore these two questions in more details:

  1. What is task-based learning (TBL) and why is it useful in language teaching?
  2. Why should we use the Internet in language teaching and specifically for TBL?
The seminar is free of charge for teachers. Please sign up by February 16 to receive the instructions and your personal password. To be able to participate fully, you need a PC with Internet Explorer and an Internet connection, as well as a headset with a microphone. Your local EF office may be able to give you a headset, if you don’t have one.

To sign-up please send an e-mail to Camilla.Schalin@ef.com with your name, address, e-mail address and phone number. Please include which of the sessions you would like to attend and if you would like to attend from your home computer or from the EF office in Tokyo.
