Dr. Tran Van Phuoc of Hue University's College of Foreign Languages is JALT's Balsamo Asian Scholar for 2008. As part of the annual "Four Corners Tour," Dr. Phuoc will be visiting Wakayama JALT to speak on the topic of Communicative Language Teaching in ELT in Vietnamese Schools.

While providing a pragmatic understanding of CLT principles, Dr. Phuoc's presentation is also sure to offer language teachers in Japan a rare and informative insight into problems and solutions in the ELT classroom from a Vietnamese perspective.
