Japan Intercultural Institute:

Deep Cultural Learning Series - Cultural values awareness

Date: Saturday, May 14th, 2005 Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Speaker: Joseph Shaules

Description:
Deep Cultural learning involves reflection about parts of our personality and cultural background that normally function out of everyday awareness. JII is offering a series of intercultural activities to help facilitate this reflective process. This month's "value drama" has been developed as part of a JII intercultural education materials development project. Participants will take part in a "value drama" – a role-play which raises questions about personal and cultural values. Volunteers will act out the drama, and the "audience" will analyze the motivation and values of the different characters. There will be light-hearted fun followed by discussion and analysis. Please note that this month's discussion group will not be held at Dubliner's Pub as it has in the past. We will be meeting at Rikkyo University in order to have room for this interactive activity.
