Creating Environmental Awareness Through Problem-Based Learning: A Malaysian Experience

This paper explores possibilities in creating and enhancing environmental awareness through problem--based learning (PBL) in the ESL classroom. Students carry out with the teacher's guidance an environmental project which brings students nearer to the outside world. The methodology used to obtain data for this paper includes pre-test, post-test and questionnaire. The implications of the study will be discussed and several recommendations will be made.
