The third seminar in Nellie's Seminar Series 2003 will feature presentations on new phonics books, a new listening text, and children's supplementary materials.

  1. Title: Educational Games for Elementary School Kids
    Time: 13:00 - 13:50
    Presenter: Junko Saito (ABAX)
    Target: Teachers of young learners

    Content: This presentation will introduce fun games using simple alphabet cards to teach young learners letter recognition, phonics, communication and more. The new title Fun WIth Phonics will also be introduced.
  2. Title: Listen and Do Activities for Kids
    Time: 14:20 - 15:10
    Presenter: David Harrington (IPI)
    Target: Teachers of young learners
    Language: English
    Content: This presentation will introduce a new concept in a children's English books, Listen Kids, which concentrates on a limited number of structures that can be combined and recombined to create loads of useful language. The book focuses on the listening aspect while language production is brought forward using flashcard games.
  3. Title: Silence is NOT Golden!!!
    Time: 15:40 - 16:30
    Presenter: Alison Taylor (Longman ELT)
    Target: Teachers of young learners
    Language: English
    Content: Inspire and transport your students into a magical realm of storybooks and games, transforming words and dialogues into songs, rhymes and chants. Examples will be taken from a variety of Longman’s supplementary materials for children.
