For international arrivals, Kyoto is closest to Kansai International Airport (KIX). The following website gives detailed information on KIX. http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/english/

Narita International Airport, the airport which primarily serves Tokyo and vicinities, is a great distance from Kyoto. Please consider booking your flight tickets to Kansai International Airport instead.

If you would like to book an airport shuttle directly from KIX to anywhere in Kyoto city please register with one of the shuttle companies at least 3 days in advance.

There are many methods for getting to Kyoto city from KIX. Bus (~Y2500 to Kyoto station), train (Y3000 +) and taxi (about 20,000)

Kyoto is fairly small, and has a good network of buses. But traffic sometimes moves slowly. Direct buses to the conference site go from stops near:

From Kyoto Station you also have the option of a train to Enmachi and walking from there (25 minutes).
