Description:
Communicative Language Teaching theory holds that negotiating meaning is a key element in learning a foreign language. However, the ability to negotiate meaning is dependent upon one's ability to use communicative strategies effectively. Communicative strategies are strategies employed when people encounter a communication problem during conversation. This presentation will review what communicative strategies are, and the function they serve in achieving meaning.
