Nagasaki JALT:

Lost in class? Ways to Navigate a Tough Crowd.

Date: Saturday, November 18th, 2006 Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Speaker: Tony Kazanjian (Sonogi Board of Education), Thomas Sorensen (Sonogi Board of Education), Emilie Masson (Hasami Board of Education), and Chris Colucci (Nagasaki Prefectural Board of Education)

Description:
For our eighth meeting of the year, we are lucky to have four great local presenters from the JET Programme, who will offer some original ideas to use in your classes. Tired of the same fruit basket and "karuta " games? Younger learners can be a tough crowd to teach, especially with larger classes of mixed levels and motivations. Tony Kazanjian (Sonogi) will give us some great ideas to get Japanese kids speaking and playing in English. Meanwhile, Tom Sorensen (Sonogi), Emilie Masson (Hasami) and Chris Colucci (Hasami) will offer some creative ideas on how to engage older learners - ranging from junior and senior high school students to adult learners - to speak more freely in class. Teachers and learners of all kinds are very welcome!
