Rethinking How We Relate to Knowledge Assumptions About Teaching and the Educational Task

JACET Kyushu-Okinawa chapter announces a special lecture/discussion on participatory education addressing educational needs of university teachers and students in Kyushu. Following introductory remarks, Dr. Park will engage the audience in a dialogue to help create:

  1. a greater understanding of the needs of the university teachers in the room, and,
  2. a model for student-centered learning.
About the speaker:Dr. Park is professor emeritus of the University of Massachusetts and has been a faculty member at Fielding Graduate Institute for 12 years. His research experiences include Italy, Finland, and Cuba, as well as the US. His current professional interests are participatory action research, and epistemological investigation involving representational knowledge, relational knowledge, and reflective knowledge in community and educational settings.

Prior to the JACET Kyushu-Okinawa chapter lecture, Dr. Park will offer an open forum to introduce you to the Fielding community of learning.
